Ten more days of school left?! Where did the last month go? I’ll tell you where! Our Spring Book Fair started the month of May. Open house occurred during the week the Book Fair was open. Our second Magic Show was well attended. Fourth grade has continued their efforts to raise funds for their 5th grade camp trip. Lots of behind the scenes volunteer time, that’s for sure!
At our May PFC meeting, we scheduled June’s meeting to begin at 6:30 to accommodate the second (of 3) budget meeting. Allison Johnson formed the election committee. Jessica English and Rhea Karahalios reported an approximate profit of $9,800 from the Online Auction. The Spring Book Fair was officially scheduled. Movie night will happen on June 3rd and Peanuts will be shown. All-In-One Day volunteers will be needed on August 18th between the times of 8am and 8pm. The link will be available over the summer. Two funding requests were voted on and granted for: 1. Monica Brombacher for a listening center and 2. Donation Support for 5th grade. The first budget meeting followed our general meeting, and we got through 18 or our 42 line items. Thank you to those who attended, voted, and voiced opinions.
The Spring Book Fair had nearly $12,000 in sales! That’s slightly more than our Fall Book Fair. Great work Amanda Bentley Moses! Thanks for managing this fundraiser and thank you to all the volunteers and supporters who have helped raise funds for Hidden Valley’s reading incentive program.
Open house was an eventful night. The Book Fair was open and members of our 4th grade class sold treats to benefit their 5th grade camp trip while families visited classrooms. During this night we also voted on Site Council Members and PFC Board Members. Congratulations to all elected volunteers! Official results for your PFC Board will be announced at our PFC meeting on Tuesday, July 7th. Thank you to the chair of the election committee, Allison Johnson, and to the members of the election committee. Your time is greatly appreciated.
Last year a magic show was added to our Family Nights. This year, Dawn Kosmakos hosted our second magic show. I hear it was a great show with laughs, raffles, and entertainment. Thank you, Dawn! Thank you to all who attended, volunteered, and performed.
In our short (school) month of June, attend movie night in the MUR on June 3rd from 7-9 pm. June 7th at 6:30 pm in the Library we have our last PFC meeting of school year and our 2nd budget meeting. We have Contra Costa Cinemas summer movie tickets available for sale in which 100% of the proceeds go to your PFC. Fill out an order form available in the office.
