MULTICULTURAL POTLUCK THIS FRIDAY

 

Hidden Valley’s Multicultural week is now and there are many ways to get involved.

There is a Passport Around the World Activity at the potluck night. The class with the most submitted passports will win a prize!
Traditional dress is HIGHLY encouraged.

BOUNCE FOR CAMP BUCKS

 Help support the 5th Grade Outdoor Ed Fund by coming down to Sky High Sports in Concord on June 4th from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm and jump!  For every flyer collected during your designated time, Sky High will donate $5 for every jumper!  Don’t forget to bring this flyer so HVE will get credit! Extra flyers are located in the office.

PARENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR SITE COUNCIL

There will be at least one School Site Council (SSC) position open for parents for the 2017-18 school year. SSC is a committee made up of parents, teachers, and school staff (including the principal), that makes decisions about how the school’s funding is spent. It is very important that we have parents to serve in these positions. Voting for School Site Council Members will be held at Open House on May 25th. Please contact Principal Gorton by Tuesday, May 23rd at gortonr@mdusd.org if you are interested in having your name placed on the School Site Council ballot.

PFC BOARD MEMBERS NEEDED

The following positions are open for the 2017-18 school year:

Co-President to learn in 2017-2018 school year and remain in office for 2018-2019 school year.

Financial secretary deposit funds, manages credit card processing equipment (ipads, square readers, hotspot), reviews financial info.

Social events coordinator hosts teacher luncheon before school begins, manages the back-to-school barbecue and teacher appreciation week.

Red Ribbon Week Chair coordinates theme days/events in October that brings attention to anti-bullying.

Spell-a-thon Chair manages fundraiser in late January, early February.

Remember, all of these positions can be shared. Thank you for considering.

 

IS YOUR CHILD BUYING LUNCH JUNE 9?

To help with planning for the end of the year, we will need to know which students would like a sack lunch for the last day of school. Your child’s teacher has a sign-up sheet. If you would like to order a sack lunch for your child, please notify your child’s teacher by this Tuesday, May 16th. This will provide the Food Services Staff with a number for how many lunches that need to be prepared for that day.

The lunches will be delivered to your child’s classroom between 8:30am-10:30 am on June 9th.

 

Only the students that sign up for a lunch will get one. There will be no extra lunches.

Teachers: Please make sure your name and room number is on your sign-up sheet.
